Welcome to an underground mahjong parlour where heartbreak and self-blame meet their match.
After writing for some of Korea’s biggest names—EXO, Le Sserafim, NCT, and TWICE — Kyler Niko is stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist with the release of Cry Club, a song about toxic self-blame after a breakup. As Kyler Niko’s debut music video, this was about setting the stage for his future music and visuals. It was important to capture his artistry and lay the foundation for what’s to come.
We reimagined heartbreak as an underground mahjong parlour—where every move is a gamble, just like love. The music video uses mahjong as both a storytelling device and a symbol of emotional complexity.
As a Chinese director and editor, this project was deeply meaningful to me, as it gave me the opportunity to weave my cultural heritage into the visual narrative.
